A Horrible Kind of Day By:Starfleetbrat

They had been on their way to Remy's for lunch when it happened. A man was running down the street towards them, waving a gun about wildly. Beckett was about to pull out her own gun to stop him when someone leapt in front of her, and slammed the gunman against the nearest wall. Their would be saviour turned to Beckett and leered suggestively while the gunman struggled for breath.
"Castle? What the...?" Beckett looked from the man in front of her to Castle, confused. The other man was the spitting image of Castle, but Castle was standing there next to her so it couldn't be him, could it?
"Aren't you going to introduce me to your very attractive lady friend Rick?" The man asked in a tone that suggested an enormous ego, never taking his eyes off Beckett as he slammed the gunman against the wall again.
Beckett raised an eyebrow in Castle's direction.

Castle sighed.

"This is Detective Beckett, the inspiration for my Nikki Heat novels. Beckett, this is my cousin, Captain Hammer. I apologise in advance."

"Why would you apologi..." Beckett started to ask before she was interrupted by Captain Hammer who had broken into song. He was singing something about being the hero coming to her rescue and how she was going to thank him by...

Before he could finish the song Beckett had grabbed him around the ear, twisting hard, smirking as he winced in pain.

Castle sighed again and pinched the bridge of his nose. He had a feeling it was going to be a horrible kind of day.
